This is the Christmas card Roger Fry, the English painter and literary critic, sent out to all of his Bloomsbury Group friends in the winter of 1916. He commissioned the artist Eric Gill, based not far from Charleston at Ditchling, to make him a woodcut for him to be able to print his own cards with a personal message.

From the collection of the Charleston Trust, this comes as an individual card with envelope.
