Painted Bowls | Amy Isles Freeman

Amy Isles Freeman hand turns wooden bowls and then decorates them with her trademark, joyful, bold designs. Exploring themes of female sexuality, freedom and joy, there is an exciting narrative to Amy’s work that places her amongst the cohort of young female artists making celebratory feminist work.

Amy Isles Freeman is an established artist based in Brighton. Since graduating from Falmouth Art School in 2014, Amy has created a range of hand turned, hand painted wooden bowls that have been stocked by Le Bon Marché, Paris, and Liberty, London. Amy’s work straddles the worlds of fine art, illustration and craft, pairing the decorative and colourful with clean and pleasing pieces of wood-turning. Alongside the bowls, Amy creates painted furniture, hand painted clothing and runs workshops, guiding people through painting their own wooden objects.
