Royal Sussex Trug
The Sussex Trug was invented by Thomas Smith of Herstmonceux in 1820. Taking an idea dating back to Anglo-Saxon times, Smith redesigned the historic ‘trog’ and in so doing created a part of the English gardening scene that is now famous worldwide.
This handmade trug is from Thomas Smith’s Trugs, the Original Makers of the Royal Sussex Traditional Trug since 1829.
Traditionally hand-crafted in nearby Herstmonceux from sustainable resources in English woodlands and forests, trugs make the perfect gift for any garden lover or vegetable grower.
